Harmon, Hampton, Gordon come in for pre-draft visits
The Steelers added three more pre-draft visits today, including two potential first-round picks: Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton and Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II.
Harmon is the sixth defensive tackle that's already come in for a pre-draft visit or been scheduled for one, but he's the first legitimate first-round option of the bunch. Harmon is built with a nearly identical frame of Cam Heyward, and he just so happens to model his game after the Steelers' All-Pro.
Hampton is a legitimate first-round running back, and second to only Boise State's Ashton Jeanty in a very deep class at the position. At 6-0 and 221 pounds with 4.46 speed, Hampton has a tantalizing blend of size and speed. He's also a potentially good fit for how the Steelers like to run the ball under Arthur Smith, as Hampton is a better zone runner, particularly in mid-zone schemes. Pro Football Focus' NFL comparison for Hampton is former Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall.
Gordon is more of a Day 3 option at running back, but there's still plenty of intrigue if the Steelers don't address the position in the first two days of the draft. He's another big back at 6-1 and 226 pounds, though he lacks the speed so many other running backs possess in this class (4.61 40-yard dash). Gordon is light on his feet, an attractive trait for a power back, but he needs coaching up on just about every part of his game to truly become an NFL runner.
